Digital driver app streamlines Bygma's delivery processes
Coignite has developed a user-friendly and offline driver app for Bygma Gruppen that ensures high quality in delivery processes and reduces errors through digitization of documentation. The solution supports drivers in busy everyday life and integrates seamlessly with Bygma's existing systems, without disrupting daily operations.

The challenge

Bygma Gruppen, one of the largest suppliers of building materials in the Nordic region, faced several challenges in their delivery processes:
- Busy drivers in need of a simple solution: With over 150 drivers constantly on the road, there was a need for a solution that could be used quickly and efficiently — even without mobile coverage. The app should work offline and be intuitive to operate, even in hectic situations.
- Lack of consistency in documentation: Unclear processes led to errors and delays in documentation, creating unnecessary costs.
- Waste of resources in finishing: When documentation was deficient or non-uniform, it required extra work from multiple links in the value chain. Consistent and correct documentation from the start was therefore essential.
- Seamless integration: The app had to be adapted to Bygma's existing systems without disrupting the daily workflows of other employees.
Bygma needed a solution that could create structure and efficiency in the delivery processes — a solution that existing systems could not offer.
The solution
Coignite developed a driver app that digitizes documentation procedures and effectively supports drivers in a hectic everyday life. The app is equipped with a number of key features to meet the daily challenges:
- Offline functionality: The app works without an internet connection, which is crucial for deliveries in areas with limited coverage.
- Intuitive design: An easy-to-use interface with large buttons and simple navigation makes it easy for drivers to use the app under pressure.
- Real-time Documentation: Features such as package scanning and image uploading ensure that deliveries are documented correctly and quickly. Image uploads are designed to be reliable, so documentation is always saved and uploaded — no matter what happens to your phone.
- Contact information at your fingertips: Drivers have easy access to information about recipients and relevant employees at Bygma, which simplifies communication and ensures smooth deliveries.
We chose a solution that balances cost-effectiveness and robustness, as the app is designed as an internal system. Using Flutter as a technological foundation, the app can work seamlessly on both iOS and Android devices, making development and maintenance more efficient. At the same time, the bespoke solution gives Bygma full control over workflows and the ability to decide which tools and information drivers should have access to — always at their fingertips.
Collaboration
The collaboration between Coignite and Bygma has been characterized by an iterative and user-oriented process. As part of the development process, we created a clickable prototype to test and fine-tune the solution before actual development began. This approach ensured that all needs and usage scenarios were met, while significantly reducing development costs.
Bygma employees played a key role in the process by contributing valuable feedback that enabled the app to be tailored precisely to their working day. In close collaboration, a secure and robust API service was developed that seamlessly integrated the solution with Bygma's ERP system, making it a natural part of their existing workflows.
Results

The new driver app has created significant improvements in Bygma's delivery processes and operations. Drivers can now record deliveries quickly and accurately -- even offline -- with reliable image documentation that reduces errors and minimizes the need for post-processing. The app's intuitive design and stable operation have made it a natural tool for over 150 drivers who use it daily.
The solution is robust and seamlessly integrated with Bygma's systems, ensuring efficiency without disrupting other workflows. The result is fewer errors, shorter delivery times and an overall optimization of logistics. The app has close to 100% uptime, supporting an operation where every minute counts.
